Producer Rodney Jerkins (aka “Darkchild!”) posted a 50-song medley of some of his biggest hits on his blog, and—damn!—talk about a 8o mph joyride down memory lane.

All of the usual suspects are there (Brandy and Monica’s “The Boy Is Mine,” Pussycat Dolls’ “When I Grow Up,” Jennifer Lopez’s “If You Had My Love,” Destiny’s Child’s “Say My Name”). But there are also the Ohhhh…right! moments, as when we suddenly remembered that Rodney produced the original version of Whitney Houston’s “It’s Not Right, But It’s Okay” before Thunderpuss got their hands on it.

“Thanks to the fans for all the love and support over the past 15 years,” Jerkins wrote on his blog. “This is a gift from me to you! I hope you enjoy it.”

And fear not—even the Spice Girls’ “Holler” made the cut. Have a listen to the “Darkchild Single Medley 50″ after the jump!

It’s not hard to imagine that when he hits the 20-year mark, he’ll be able to add new stuff from Janet and Ciara.

  1. What is that at around the 7:55 mark?

We really need a track list for this.

Also, where can I get that chilled-out “Still not a playa” remix?

Best post on this site since Maura left, simply for bringing this medley to my attention.

  2. Wow 90′s era Darkchild can quickly be singled out track to track he was quite force back then wasn’t he? Nice melody all-in-all.

  3. BoogieRock

The Still Not A Playa remix is actually the original version “Don’t Wanna Be A Player”

The song at 7:51 is Kiera “KiKi” Sheard and is called “You Don’t Know”

  4. Zana

I love his 90′s stuff. I purchased his project w/ Brandy “Never Say Never” like twice since it was released over 10 yrs ago and I don’t find it dated it is just smooth R&B :) It still gets play :) Oh! and “The Things that You Do” by Gina Thompson was a smash hit! Imma go listen to whole jam right now LOL
