Cyndi Lauper Loses Grip Of Kings Of Leon’s Woodie

Gossip girl-turned-recording-artist Leighton Meester sidled up next to the iconic Cyndi Lauper last month during the 2009 mtvU Woodie Awards, where the pop pair presented the Woodie Of The Year to Kings Of Leon. Cyndi accepted the statue on the band’s behalf.

But later in the evening, while Lauper was mingling with Meester and blinding the other attendees with the not-so-true colors of her platinum blonde pompadour, some brave young dude waltzed right up, snatched KOL’s Woodie from Cyn’s clutches and walked off. Catch the video of Leighton Meester and Cyndi Lauper doing a total WTF as the award is stolen after the jump.

Yep, it’s that easy.

Cyndi Lauper tweeted over the weekend that she’s prepping to record a blues album, while Leighton recently took a stab at “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” on the latest A Very Special Christmas installment.

And as for Kings Of Leon’s Woodie, well, keep your eyes peeled.
