Timbaland And Drake Aren’t Saying Much With ‘Say Something’

For what is essentially a decent party album, Timbaland’s newly-released Shock Value II is having one of its more downbeat tracks offered up as the record’s second official single. “Say Something” features high-profile rapper-for-hire Drake, and the video for the slow jam popped up today. Sadly, it doesn’t really offer much in the way of visual eye candy, save for a bit of Timbaland’s trademark goofball faces.

In fact, “Say Something” has us yearning for the cheesy Italian vampire saga that ran through Tim’s previous video, “Morning After Dark.” Watch Timbaland and Drake’s new video after the jump.

Perhaps the Los Angeles TimesPop & Hiss blog said it best in their review of Shock Value II when noting that Timbaland “fares better when his past clients lend a hand. Justin Timberlake has a goofy good time on ‘Carry Out,’ and Nelly Furtado’s glassy-eyed lines on ‘Morning After Dark’ are just loopy enough to work.”

Grammy nominee Drake, on the other hand, just has us wishing Tim would bring sexy back.
