Usher’s ‘Raymond V. Raymond’ Super Serious Album Cover Doesn’t Exactly Promise Fun Times Ahead

We can’t decide if Usher’s eyes, as seen on the just-released album cover for his forthcoming Raymond V. Raymond LP, are saying “Let’s spend the night” or “Damn, alimony is expensive.” Maybe a little bit of both, and that’s understandable given the drama he’s live through over the past decade, all while racking up more number ones than any other artist. In any case, it’s a more restrained and introspective look for the Extreme Makeover homebuilder (more Confessions than Here I Stand), and the debut of the cover comes as his sixth studio release gains a new release date, out March 1, 2010 (unless they change it again). We’re not exactly sure why they airbrushed the hell out of Usher like they were working on a Madonna album cover, but at least he kept it classy by not using the album artwork to exorcise his divorce demons.

Ush recently teamed up with Keri Hilson and Trey Songz for the remix of Trey’s “I Invented Sex.” Way to take the credit away from God, guys. Track after the jump:
