Wait, is it all happening for Kate Hudson now? We were honestly surprised how much we enjoyed her singing voice on the Golden Globe nominated track “Cinema Italiano” from the screen adaptation of the musical Nine. We’re happy to give her a good review, although the movie she’s in doesn’t seem to be generating similar praise. (Then again, she’s gotta be used to that by now.) After the jump: Kate’s “music video”—defined here as “hastily conceived splice job tying together movie footage and a studio hang sesh with Fergie.”

Girl’s already hanging with Fergie like she’s the fifth member of the Black Eyed Peas. Hudson’s clearly enjoying her time in the studio, since she tells PopEater she’s not through with singing, and an album might be in her future:

“I hope so, one day. I really do,” she says. “I hope to either continue singing in that way, do other musicals or possibly stage, but I definitely want to continue to sing. It makes me happy.”

Now that we’ve heard “Cinema Italiano,” the possibility of a Kate Hudson album scares us less than other actresses’ desperate attempts to become recording artists. And if Kate does end up making an album, what are the odds she’ll record this?
