Unreleased Nicole Sherzinger Tracks Don’t Exactly Make Us Wish They Were Released

Now that the Pussycat Dolls are dunzo—at least as far as this current lineup is concerned (sorry, Melody, that might mean you)—we hope Nicole Sherzinger doesn’t get the inkling to try another solo effort outside the Dolls. Her Name Is Nicole, you may recall, had several underperforming singles, and the full album never saw the light of day. Well, several new unreleased tracks have leaked off the 2006 album, and let’s just say we now fully understand why Her Name Is Nicole never got off the ground. Check out one of the tunes, “I’m a Cheat,” after the jump.

Nicole Sherzinger – “I’m a Cheat”

The mid-tempo song, produced by Tricky Stewart (who is also responsible for this year’s DOA single), is repeititve and, worst of all, just not that interesting and goes absolutely nowhere new. We know Nicole’s got some major pipes, so why waste the opportunity to show them off with some bland talk-singing? Plus, what’s with the weird rapping that sounds like it was recorded underwater or from a guy who just got out of the dentist’s office?

We Are Pop Slags has some more neglected tracks, and all of them pretty much come off like Destiny’s Child B-sides. If this is a preview for the solo album Sherzinger keeps trying to make happen, we’re not exactly waiting with baited breath for it to come out, especially when the new PCD release promises some fresh faces and some choice guest collaborators.
