Usher Gets The Crowd Roaring With ‘Oh My Gosh’

You have to think Usher is feeling his age these days, what with his celebrating (?) the big 3-1 before the holiday and the success of possible heirs like Jason Derulo and Jay Sean on the charts. Plus, much if not all of his sixth studio album Raymond v. Raymond is floating online a full two months ahead of its planned release. But just because Usher’s getting a little older doesn’t mean he’s not due for a futuristic “three-thousand-and-eight”-style will.i.am makeover — besides, is the Black Eyed Pea going to be happy until every last song on the radio includes his vocals? No. And just in case, this time he’s pre-recorded the cheering crowd. Check the latest Usher leak, “Oh My Gosh,” below.

The crowds chanting back at Usher definitely differentiate this leak from the previous material we’ve heard from Raymond, and it will more than likely be an instant hit once he performs this one the road in front of real fans. The track starts out almost like an an Auto-Tuned arena anthem (using a beat a little too similar to Fergie’s “Glamorous,” something we’d call a coincidence if will.i.am wasn’t the credited producer), then turns on its head halfway through as will cranks up a crunchy beat for clubland (and evokes FutureSex/LoveSounds) before winding toward a slow, synth-heavy close.

For those of you keeping track at home, the most intriguing previous leaks from Raymond v. Raymond besides “Oh My Gosh” are: “Little Freak” feat. Nicki Minaj “In My Bag” feat. T.I. “Papers”

At this rate, the album should have just came out in December as originally planned.
