Ring The Alarm: Beyonce’s Taking A Break

After unleashing eight (!) singles off I Am… Sasha Fierce, touring the globe, earning an impressive 10 Grammy nods, pairing up with Lady Gaga twice, navigating through a sticky MTV VMAs situation and ringing in the new year at a private party with at least one notoriously controversial attendee, Beyonce has decided it’s time to have a little diva downtime in 2010.

“It’s definitely time to take a break, to recharge my batteries,” Beyonce told USA Today. “I’d like to take about six months and not go into the studio. I need to just live life, to be inspired by things again.”

Gosh, was it those Destiny’s Child song leaks from last week that finally pushed the 28-year-old to take a vacation?

Beyonce continued on, telling the paper, “I’ve always worked hard, but I feel like I worked harder this past year than I have since I was just starting out. I just had all these great opportunities… I visited the pyramids in Egypt. I saw the Great Wall of China and went out in the middle of the ocean in Australia to see the whales. I actually got sprayed in the face. I made some great memories this year and really learned to enjoy life.”

Maybe now B’s eclectic sister Solange—who has reportedly been working on her next album with Australia’s Midnight Juggernauts—will have her day in the commercial spotlight.

At the very least, Beyonce should be able to rack up a little quality family time. Her mom could probably use it.
