The Morning Mix: Twitter Gets Us Excited About New No Doubt And Kanye Albums
Morning everyone! While Ashlee Simpson-Wentz is wondering why people are so obsessed with her sister Jessica’s fluctuating weight, we’re scratching our heads why people are still interviewing Ashlee Simpson-Wentz. While we figure that one out, onto the mix!
Did You Hear?
:: No Doubt tweets about returning to the studio to record their new album. Anyone else think Gwen Stefani’s abs deserve their own Twitter account? [MTV]
:: Kanye West is apparently finished with his next album, because somebody’s already listened to it. (Their vague one-word Twitter review? “Inspiring.”) [EW Music Mix]
:: Usher’s long-delayed album Raymond v. Raymond gets an official release date of March 30. Unless, of course, it gets delayed again. [Rap Radar]
:: Soulja Boy is releasing a book called Teenage Millionaire. We hope it’s a how-to book. [Hip Hop Wired]
:: At the mere thought of getting Justin Bieber concert tickets, one teenage mega-fan makes her mother do awful, awful things. (Five words: tramp stamp at middle age.) [Buzzfeed]
Behind the jump: We implore Vanessa Williams to return to recording music after the cancellation of her TV show.
VIDEO REWIND OF THE DAY: Now that ABC has announced that Ugly Betty will enter its last season, Vanessa Williams has more than enough time to go back to being a pop star (not that we didn’t love her performance as Mode‘s demanding creative director Wilhelmina Slat). Let’s take a look back at her 1991 ballad “Save The Best For Last.” Williams looks absolutely stunning shot in black and white; the stylists made her look so good we can almost forgive the director for the laughably fake-looking winter wonderland set.
Have a great day, everyone!
