The Morning Mix: Lil Wayne Can’t Wait To Be Behind Bars

Feb 4th, 2010 // Comment

Good morning! While we’re pretty sure Katy Perry is no doubt livid with jealousy over this set of photos between her fiance and budding musician Jason Segel, all we’re picturing is a very homoerotic Forgetting Sarah Marshall sequel. Which would be awesome. Til that epic comedy comes to a theatre near you, let’s mix it up:

Did You Hear?

:: Lil Wayne tells Rolling Stone he’s “looking forward” to spending a year in jail. To paraphrase a quote from Watchmen‘s Rorschach, he’s not locked in there with other prisoners, other prisoners are locked in there with Weezy. [Rolling Stone]

:: So that’s how Taylor Swift broke her Grammy. [Buzzfeed]

:: KISS meets mini-KISS in what we’re expecting to be the greatest Super Bowl ad of all time. [Spinner]

:: How did Swizz Beatz discover Justice, whom he sampled for a track on Jay-Z’s Blueprint 3? Not from a music blog, it turns out. [Nah Right]

:: Bamboozle fest will play for the first time in Chicago, with Cobra Starship, 3OH!3 and Travis McCoy so far confirmed on the lineup. [Alt Press]

After the jump: A last dance, dance with the Fall Out Boys.

cartoon_tvMusic On TV Tonight:

VIDEO REWIND OF THE DAY: Fall Out Boy are blogging goodbye, and we’ve got the blues. We still hold out hope that, after a few years apart, Pete, Patrick & Co. will change their minds and regroup — and we’ll proudly wear our Clandestine bat hoodies to their reunion show. But til then, let’s rmmbr (that would be “remember” in Pete Wentz-speak) the good times by highlighting one of FOB’s best videos — the infectious “Dance, Dance” from 2005. From the prom locale straight out of the 80s to the band’s dorky makeovers to the tongue-in-cheek (but still wildly impressive) dance-off at the end, we’ll miss these boys’ nonstop energy and lovable goofiness. (And yes, that is indeed 30 Rock‘s Seri playing the object of Patrick Stump’s affections.)

Have a great day, everyone!
