Ke$ha Sets A Chart Record, But Is That A Good Thing?

Gosh, most of Ke$ha’s relationships probably don’t even last eight weeks, and yet that’s how long “TiK ToK” has been ticking away at #1 on Billboard‘s Hot 100. The pop prankstress has now set a record by having the longest run at the top of the chart with a debut single from a female artist since Debby Boone’s “You Light Up My Life” spent 10 weeks at #1 in 1977.

Of course, the flip side is that Debby Boone was a one-hit wonder who eventually turned to country music once her pop career cooled off. Hmmmm. Do we think Ke$ha has a “You Belong With Me” or “Before He Cheats” in her?

Oh, let’s just hop below and have Debs put us to sleep with “You Light Up My Life.”
