The Kids Choice Awards nominations were announced, and although some people think you can only be a Lady Gaga fan or a Taylor Swift fan because of their polar-opposite ideologies, apparently children are able to idolize both artists simultaneously. Gaga and Swift are head-to-whatever-is-resting-on-Lady-Gaga’s-head-at-the-time in two categories, Favorite Female Singer and Favorite Song. Will the kid-approved accolades be won by the ingenue who dreams of princesses and boys, or the performance artist who fantasizes about setting fire to the man who purchased her in a bath house? Check out all the nominees below:

Favorite Music Group

Black Eyed Peas Coldplay Jonas Brothers Linkin Park Favorite Female Singer Beyonce Miley Cyrus Lady Gaga Taylor Swift

Favorite Male Singer Jay-Z Sean Kingston Mario Ne-Yo

Favorite Song “I Gotta Feeling,” Black Eyed Peas “Paparazzi,” Lady Gaga “Party in the USA,” Miley Cyrus “You Belong with Me,” Taylor Swift

We’re sort of concerned about teens watching Gaga’s suicide-promoting, sexually provocative “Paparazzi” clip, as well as Favorite Male Singer nominee Mario’s latest threeway-endorsing vid. But that’s why we have parents, so that they can use their discretion when deciding what they allow their children to watch. Or they can just blame the networks for not looking out for their kid in the first place.

Taylor and Gaga will also have to compete against frontrunner Miley Cyrus, who’s won Favorite Female Singer the last two years in a row. The USA partygirl is also up against tween singer Selena Gomez for Favorite TV Actress, and Nick and Joe Jonas are up for Favorite TV Actor. (We guess Kevin has been completely forgotten about now that little girls can no longer dilute themselves into thinking he might marry them one day.)

The Kids Choice Awards airs on Nickelodeon on Saturday March 27.
