Sade Hit Up ‘Ellen,’ Deploy “Soldier Of Love”

Feb 16th, 2010 // 4 Comments

Sade—the band, the woman, the militant music force—are expected to top the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart with Soldier Of Love. And this week they’re keeping the momentum going by doing more TV gigs. (As they should—they’ve already had the best-selling LP on iTunes for a eight days now.) Today’s appearance was on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and you can watch it below.

Like Sade’s recent gigs on The Late Show With David Letterman and The Today Show, the band performed current single “Soldier Of Love” on Ellen.

Funny, we’ve still not grown tired of hearing that dark jam. After all, Sade have a long way to go before reaching the over-saturation point like some other artists have with their hits.

Tonight Sade Adu & Co. march on to Jimmy Kimmel Live.

  1. She keeps having trouble at the transition around 1:40 mark – the problem with layering her own voice on the record. Perhaps if she had some female background singers to recreate her voice instead of her trying to do all her own parts? I gave the CD an A rating but I guess being away so long from singing live, she's a bit rusty. Each TV performance has been a little better than the last so that is a good sign.
