It seems like only yesterday that we were meeting this American Idol season’s first batch of hopefuls in Boston. But five weeks have flown by, and the DeGeneres-enhanced judges’ panel has whittled down thousands of auditioners to the Top 24. Though we have some lingering complaints about a few who didn’t make the cut, we do believe each of the 24 possesses something that gives them a fighting chance to succeed on the long and twisted road ahead.
