The Morning Mix: ‘Glee’ Makes A Pit Stop At The White House Before Returning To TV

Good morning! We’re happy to start Tuesday’s mix, but we’re nowhere as excited as the Glee kids probably are today: the show’s cast is all atwitter after finding out the First Lady requested they sing at the White House this Easter. How much you wanna bet President Obama has both volumes of the Glee soundtrack on his iPod, along withThe Blueprint?

Did You Hear?

:: It’s official: a pickle is infinitely more popular than Nickelback. Thanks, Facebook, for finally settling the matter. [Prefixmag]

:: Here are the 12 people who should have declined the invitation to sing the “We Are The World” remake. They forgot Vince Vaughn, whose participation still hasn’t been explained. [Soul Bounce]

:: Paramore pet a white tiger while Down Under. Watch out, Hayley! That thing could eat you alive in one chomp. [MTV]

:: Ke$ha dresses up like a zebra in an apparent attempt to land herself a part in Rihanna’s next video. [Just Jared]

:: Annie Lennox is gaga-ooh-la-la for Stefani Germanotta. [Spinner]

After the jump: Justin Bieber makes history.

Music On TV Tonight: :: Late Show with David Letterman (CBS) – Robin Thicke (repeat) :: Lopez Tonight (TBS) – Mariah Carey (repeat)

VIDEO REWIND OF THE DAY: Congratulations, Biebheads, your internet campaigns to get flower delivery boy and charity single soloist Justin Bieber on Saturday Night Live were successful! The “Baby” wunderkind will be the musical guest on the late-night sketch show on April 10. At a mere 16-years old (Bieber’s b-day is March 1), Justin will be one of the youngest artists to perform on the show… but he’s still beat by another talented tyke. Zac Hanson (of, ya know, the all-brother pop trio Hanson) was only 12-years old when he and his bros Isaac and Taylor jammed out to their ubiquitous hit “MMMBop” at 30 Rock back in 1997. 16 years old seems ancient to a boy still in the midst of puberty.

Unfortunately, there’s no video footage of Hanson’s performance on SNL, so the “MMMBop” video will have to do. Don’t lie—you know this song is still catchy as hell. (The awful green screen moments of the teens on the moon or floating in front of a bunch of flowers do not hold up 13 years later, though. Nor did they back in 97, either.)

Have a great day!
