Rihanna Plans To Drop A Dance-Pop Album This Summer

Rihanna no longer feels quite so “Hard.” In lieu of a re-release of Rated-R, Rihanna is reportedly working on a new album of all new tunes to drop as quickly as this Summer. So why the warp-speed turnaround between albums?

Sources say RiRi’s label is unhappy with Rated R‘s performance (it’s sold about 600k copies, well short of platinum). Others claim the pop star is over her dark-and-stormy phase and just wants to try returning to dance-pop hits. So say sayonara to war motifs, disturbing drowning sequences and bizarre metaphors involving beloved childhood figures.

We’re glad Rihanna’s taking a clue from her “Rude Boy” video and brightening things up for her next release, but we have one request: can Shy Ronnie and Bridget the Midget guest star on the album?
