It feels like it’s been ages since La Roux busted onto the pop scene with chilly synth jams “In For The Kill” and “Bulletproof” (though it was only last year!)—so color us surprised to see Elly Jackson and her well-manicured coif on The Ellen DeGeneres Show today, belting out the latter tune. “Bulletproof” topped the UK chart last summer, and now the single appears to finally be making headway here in the States. Watch the Ellen performance after the jump!

Last week “Bulletproof” debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 waaaayy down at #92. As of today, however, La Roux’s bouncy breakup single is up to #52 on iTunes Top Songs roundup.

At last month’s Brit Awards, La Roux were up for British Breakthrough Act and British Single (for “In For The Kill”), but lost out on both to JLS.

The group (technically a duo, though like Goldfrapp, male member Ben Langmaid rarely if ever goes on the road) are playing Coachella next month. Idolator’s sister site Celebuzz is throwing a contest where one lucky winner will snag a three-day pass to the fest, plus a meet-and-greet with La Roux.
