Robyn Goes Robo-Electro On “Fembot”

As if the preview of Robyn’s new music on the Swedish Dom Kallar Oss Artister TV show hadn’t whet our appetites for the quirky blonde’s upcoming material enough, today she added brand new electro track “Fembot” to her official site. The sexy high-tech jam—in which “scientifically advanced hot mama” Robyn declares “my system’s in mint condition” and “fembots have feelings, too”—has us longing for part one of that upcoming three-part album more than ever! Hear it below!

Above is a new promo shot of Robyn (it’s about time!) that was shot by the inimitable Rankin. Meanwhile, in a new interview with Pitchfork, the singer expands on the idea behind her upcoming broken-up-album release:

“They’re albums with enough songs to make them feel like real bodies of work. They are shorter than usual, but still closer to ten songs than five. For a while we were discussing naming them Some Songs and then Some More Songs [laughs] because everyone was like, ‘What is this thing you’re releasing?’ But to me they’re albums… Right now I’m finishing the first one, which is going to come out in June. I’m already working on the second album so I hope that’ll come out sometime after the summer. Then later on maybe another release. Let’s see how far we get.”

Hopefully very far.
