Did You Hear?
:: Truth be told, we’ve missed Kanye West’s rants since he started keeping a low profile last year, and now he’s off in Hawaii recording his next album. Can somebody please nominate him for something and then not give him the award? While we’re feeling nostalgic, here’s MTV’s 5 Best Kanye Blog Rants of All Time. (Our favorite might be the one where he tells an Entertainment Weekly staffer that he’s “f***ing trash” and to “never come 2 one of my shows again.”) [MTV Buzzworthy]
:: Say what you will about Miley Cyrus’ mentoring abilities, but this gallery of the Disney teen queen’s red carpet looks proves she is a budding fashionista. (Apparently babies don’t care much for a sense of style.) [Wonderwall]
:: Fashion photographer Steven Klein will direct Lady Gaga’s video for “Alejandro.” At this point it would be shocking if Gaga wore a sweatshirt and a pair of jeans in her video. But that’s never, ever going to happen. [Vulture]
:: Amy Winehouse is talking about her lady parts for a new campaign shilling a feminine hygiene product. So why do we feel so unclean? [Huffington Post]
:: Remember yesterday when Avril Lavigne and separated spouse Deryk Whibley seemed totally back on? Well, that didn’t last long (although their matching tattoos ain’t going anywhere). Avril was spotted getting close with The Hills‘ Brody Jenner at a Los Angeles nightclub. We think they both could do better. [E! Online]
After the jump: who tackled “Me and Bobby McGee” better, Pink or an American Idol hopeful? (Answer: Janis Joplin.)

VIDEO REWIND OF THE DAY: Last night on American Idol, Crystal Bowersox gave an incredible performance of Janis Joplin’s “Me and Bobby McGee.” Simon Cowell commented that he had heard Pink sing the same version, and thought Crystal’s take on the 1972 classic was just as good. Why don’t you be the judge of that—watch Pink’s performance of the Janis track on The Today Show back in 2007 while promoting her album Try This. (And here’s Joplin’s original recording for a quickie listen.)
Have a great day!
