Justin Bieber Wears T-Shirt In Order To Save Manager From Jail

Justin Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun faces up to a year in prison, and this could very well be the first time in history somebody could go to jail for neglecting to tweet. (Side note: Is this really the depressing world we live in now?) Good thing for Scooter, he manages one of the biggest stars on the planet, and the teenage wunderkind is coming to his defense. Bieber’s official statement defending his incarcerated manager below.

Justin released a statement to the Associated Press last night:

“My mother and I are 100% behind my manager. He is someone of high moral character and principle. The decisions he made that day were to protect the safety of myself and my fans and I am very thankful to have someone in my life who watches over me the way Scooter does.”

The statement was just the tip of the iceberg—Justin wore his heart on his chest, sporting a “Free Scooter” t-shirt while meeting fans in Chicago.

Don’t have a trendy t-shirt to wear to help the cause? Head on over to FreeScooterBraun.com to sign the petition. (Note: your e-signature will pretty much do nothing in a legal sense, but doesn’t it feel great to feel involved?)

And the Bieb isn’t the only artist who thinks the whole notion of taking legal action for failure to tweet is totally lacking in common sense. The Roots’ ?uestlove, one of Twitter’s best-known (and heaviest) users, poked at the weirdness of it all in a tweet today — if not tweeting can be a crime, he said, “This means I am on the guest list for heaven.”
