Oh my gosh, indeed! How many music videos can Usher possibly release in such a short time span? Is he in a mad dash to outdo Lil Wayne, who recently shot nine within a 48-hour period? Well, head below to watch Usher’s newest clip to come down the conveyor belt, “OMG.” It’s currently the first single released off his latest album overseas.
Anthony Mandler, who lensed the clips for Rihanna’s “Russian Roulette,” Jay-Z and Mr Hudson’s “Young Forever” and Drake’s “Over,” directed laser-light fest “OMG.” Will.i.am, who appears in the video, also produced and co-wrote the song.
At any rate, throwing so many singles out there appears to be working for the time being at least. Usher’s Raymond v. Raymond was finally released today after several delays, and it’s currently the top download on iTunes.
Here’s a short video the singer posted on YouTube this morning, just before hitting the Good Morning America set:
Whether or not the album will have staying power—or a breakout hit single—is another story. So far the LP’s “Hey Daddy (Daddy’s Home)” has been his highest-charting tune from the set. It peaked at #31 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Meanwhile, “OMG” entered the official UK singles chart at #13 this past week.
