The Morning Mix: Nick And Selena Break Our Hearts By Calling It Quits

Did you hear?

:: Nick Jonas and Selena Gomez broke up. Guess he wasn’t into robots. [E! Online]

:: Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong meets his idol, The Replacements’ Paul Westerberg. Check out other rockers (including Alison Goldfrapp and Gerard Way) getting all gooey while meeting the artists they admire. [Spin]

:: We’re more surprised than anyone to find out that Lindsay Lohan’s latest song isn’t absolutely atrocious. Yes, that was a compliment. Sort of. Basically, if Linds is safe inside a studio instead of falling into bushes or releasing a mysterious white powder from her shoes, then it’s probably for the best—for her health, if not our ears. [Blackbook Mag]

:: After reading a few reviews of Miley Cyrus’ acting in The Last Song, we hope she’s seriously reconsidering giving up her music career. [Pop Eater]

:: Did Nicki Minaj make a trend-setting video with “Massive Attack”? MTV really hopes not—casting Amber Rose as anything besides Kanye West’s arm candy doesn’t seem right to us, either. [MTV Buzzworthy]

After the jump: we’re coming out and saying it’s great when celebrities are proud of their sexuality. Music On TV Today: :: The Tonight Show With Jay Leno (NBC) – Colbie Callait (repeat) :: Late Show with David Letterman (CBS) – She & Him :: Jimmy Kimmel Live (ABC) – Jamie Cullum (repeat) :: Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson (CBS) – Joss Stone

VIDEO REWIND OF THE DAY: Ricky Martin kicked off the week with the non-shock of a lifetime, announcing that he is, in fact, gay. Much more surprising and seemingly out-of-nowhere was actress Anna Paquin (who is engaged to her True Blood co-star Stephen Moyer) coming out as bisexual in the Give A Damn campaign for equal rights. (We’re hoping it wasn’t just some sort of April Fools stunt.) When did this become Celebrities Randomly Declaring Their Sexual Orientation Week? We think it’s time to cue up Diana Ross’ “I’m Coming Out” for obvious reasons.
