Drake Grapples With The Trappings Of Fame In His “Over” Video

Drinks, women and packs of Swishers are all on hand for Drake, according to his single “Over.” But along with that comes the perils of fame, such as hangers-on, his album release date getting pushed back and Sean Kingston covering “Over” and releasing a DIY video for it before Drake’s own clip premiered. The wait is now over for Drizzy’s “Over” vid—a much more expensive affair than Kingston’s—though. Watch below.

Anthony Mandler, who recently lensed Usher’s “OMG” and Rihanna’s “Russian Roulette” videos, directed “Over.”

“[Drake] felt strongly that nobody had really captured him, and some of the videos that had been done were less iconic than he would like to be represented as,” Mandler recently told Rap-Up.com. “Here’s a guy that’s finally putting a duality to the words and saying, ‘Yeah, I have all that and I do all that, but I’m also somebody that’s asking, is that what I should be doing with my life?'”
