‘Glee’ Sings Madonna’s “Like A Prayer” And It Feels Like Home

Glee, the show that loves to tease us with sneak peak tracks, is at it again. The musical dramedy (along with the rest of the Gleek world) is gearing up for it’s all-Madonna episode next week. They’ve already given us Sue Sylvester, as Madonna, in a “Vogue” music video recreation to tempt us, and now we’re treated to New Directions’ rendition of “Like A Prayer”. We highly doubt it will be true to the original controversial music video which included burning crosses, Madonna making out with a Black Jesus, and some serious stigmata action. Listen to the track after the jump, and if you ask us, this choir version could have used some help from Sister Act’s Sister Mary Clarence, but you be the judge.

Here’s Whoopi Goldberg as Sister Mary Clarence giving her school choir the kind of guidance we think New Directions could have used on “Like A Prayer”.

So Glee‘s “Like A Prayer”? Divine or the work of the devil? Let us know what you think in the comments below.

    Wow. That is awful.

  2. Frank

While it is not awful it would have been better not to have some many voice (see Chris Colfer). Lea Michele's parts as usual soars above the other folks in the song. Lea and maybe one other voice would have been fine and than the big choir. They could have also cut at least a minute of the song.

It is a long song though to be fair. I don't know how they're going to fit 10 songs into the entire episode. I like it. It's nice to hear a few other voices for a change.

  5. Annie

I think this song is amazing. The quality hear isn’t great, but it’s awesome to hear Mercedes and Kurt as well. I loved it.
