Although us Americans can barely even bother to fake being interested in soccer (or “soccer” as anyone outside the U.S. would sarcastically write it), the World Cup is kiiiinda a big deal in the rest of the world—and so is recording the music to accompany the biggest sporting event on Earth. Kelly Rowland performed the anthem for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, the boisterous track “Everywhere You Go,” which features several African artists. Did the former Destiny’s Child singer score a goal with her theme song, or are you more into Shakira’s World Cup track? Hear the epic Steve Morales-produced song below.

Kelly Rowland – “Everywhere You Go”

The song, to be honest, is kind of a mess. None of it seems to flow together, and Kelly’s vocals get upstaged by the heavy beats. But that’s us listening to it in our quiet little Idolator office—throw us in a giant stadium overflowing with energy and drunk fútbol fans, and we’ll see how much we come to like the track then.

Kelly has been more focused on another continent besides Africa lately—the singer has been traveling throughout Australia, performing on the Supafest tour, and was generally having a big ole ball Down Undah—that is, until this week, when she found herself in a mid-air kerfuffle with flight attendants aboard a Qantas flight from Melbourne to Sydney. The incident was allegedly sparked by members of her entourage using cell phones while on the flight and sitting in the wrong seats, but Kelly claims the attendants’ angry attitudes were uncalled for.

“I found the flight attendants really sh***y,” said Rowland, reports The Daily Telepgraph. “They were very rude to us. That’s the first time you’ll ever hear me say a curse word. They were just rude to us on the plane. They treated us like five-year-old kids… It was rather unpleasant.”
