Lin Yu Chun may have gotten the boot from Taiwanese reality show Super Star Avenue after his rendition of “I Will Always Love You” made him a viral sensation, but his 15 minutes aren’t up just yet. Ellen DeGeneres welcomed Lin onto her daytime talk show today, where he got philosophical about the bullying he’s had to endure, and offered words of encouragement for other kids who get pushed around. Watch below!

“There is a reason for everyone’s existence in this world. Be confident, ” Chun offered up as advice. “The best way to get back at them is to be more successful.”

This caused Ellen to crack a big smile and put her arm around Lin. Awww. That almost gets us misty-eyed—so let’s just reach for the Kleenex and watch him belt out Whitney’s old jam.

And, really, worse things could have happened to Lin than getting kicked off of Super Star Avenue and winding up on the other side of the world on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, singing for an audience of weepy women. After all, one of Ellen’s pals (onscreen, at least) is Simon Cowell, who “discovered” unlikely songstress Susan Boyle. And she sure isn’t hurting for cash these days.

Besides, something tells us there are at least nine other people who would kill to be in Lin’s place right about now.
