Celebrate Kelly Clarkson’s 28th Birthday With Two Classic Performances

It’s hard to believe that eight years ago, when Kelly Clarkson turned 20 in April 2002, American Idol‘s first season had yet to air. Nevertheless, she would go on to become the very first winner of the brand new reality singing competition less than five months later. Jumping ahead, it’s time to wish Kelly a Happy 28th (her birthday is Saturday, April 24)! In the years since she’s been gone from AI, Clarkson has released four albums, landed two #1 singles, won two Grammys, four American Music Awards and 12 Billboard Music Awards, and she’s appeared on such series as Saturday Night Live, Reba, MADtv and American Dreams. (We’ll kindly leave out any mention of From Justin To Kelly—oh, oops!)

After the jump, two of our favorite Kelly Clarkson performances of all time—including one she’d probably rather forget ever happened.
