The 6 Classiest Quotes From Ke$ha’s ‘Rolling Stone’ Feature

Behind the headdress and aviator sunglasses, pop sensation Ke$ha is just a humble 23-year-old who grew up dumpster-diving in Beverly Hills. At least, that’s the story recounted in the new Rolling Stone, which features Ke$ha (born Kesha Rose Sebert) in a reflective mood in the California desert. RS writer Austin Scaggs managed to extract some choice lines from the “TiK ToK” star. Turns out she’s heavily influenced by Bob Dylan, because of course. And she does have something to say about that atrocious SNL performance. Check below for a taste of the wisdom Ke$ha spews all over the new issue:

On exercise: “I need to go on a walk every day, like a dog.”

On her personal hygiene and conduct: “I’m pretty sure in my past life I was a dude, because I talk like a dude and act like a dude… My mom always taught me to be tough.”

On her favorite vacation spot: “I like to go to the jungle at least once a year, get away from human beings and not use my people voice, just my animal voice… I know it sounds crazy, but I like connecting with the Earth on a real level.”

On her favorite album of all time, Bob Dylan’s Nashville Skyline: “I can put that on no matter where I am in the world and instantly feel OK… His music tells me to do what I do, to be myself and not pay attention to the other bulls$@*.”

On meeting Ringo Starr at the Grammys: “I met him at the Grammys, and he congratulated me on my album! I threw up in my mouth a little bit. I said, ‘Congratulations on being a f@#%in’ Beatle!”

On her widely criticized Saturday Night Live performance: “I was happy with the way it turned out… F@#* cynicism. F@#* the cynics. They can say whatever they want, because I’ll be the one in the corner with my laser gloves having a dance party.”

Whether you would want to attend such a dance party is, of course, up to you. Read all about Ke$ha’s rise in the new Rolling Stone, on sale now.
