There’s a reason the stopwatch at the beginning of 60 Minutes goes “tick, tick, tick” instead of “TiK ToK”. It’s the same reason that Polident and medical alarms buy ad time during the show: they know their demographic—old people. In his weekly rambling observation segment, commentator and nonagenarian Andy Rooney spoke of falling out of touch with today’s music. His case was that as the definition of the average American, he should know the most popular music. He bragged about knowing of Sting and the Rolling Stones, but said he had never heard of Lady Gaga, Usher (who has been making music for over a decade), and brace yourselves, Justin Bieber. Watch and give us your own commentary on Andy in the comments section.
