Kelis swung by BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge yesterday and knocked out an acoustic cover of La Roux’s “In For The Kill.” The tune, which became the UK duo’s first hit last year, sounds more subdued when coming from Kelis’ pipes rather than out of those of ginger-coiffed singer Elly Jackson. Still, it should amp up the excitement for the fans of the “Acapella” diva ahead of the release of Flesh Tone—not to mention draw in curious La Roux followers in the process. Listen to both versions after the jump.

Currently the British twosome are coasting on a growing wave of success in the States. After rocking out a hot set of synth jams at Coachella in April, Elly and Ben Langmaid have been steadily climbing up the Billboard Hot 100 with “Bulletproof.” This week they’re sitting at #23 on the chart.
