Kelis is gearing up for the release of her album Flesh Tone,  and in addition to covering La Roux’s “In For The Kill” on BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge this week, she also performed on UK program Later… With Jools Holland and sat down for an interview with MTV’s Buzzworthy Blog. It was during the latter that she responded to PETA’s recent criticism of her for wearing fur. “Quite frankly, I find them to be completely hypocritcal,” she told the site. Watch the full clip, as well as Kelis’ Jools Holland performance, after the jump.

PETA initially criticized Kelis for wearing a fur hat and an ostrich coat back in January. This prompted Kelis to testily type out a response blog post.

“I wrote back to PETA because I feel like, who on earth are you to tell me what I wear?” the singer told MTV. “I  was reading something recently saying that they euthanize 97 percent of the dogs and cats and animals, whatever, that are brought to them. ”

Well, you may not agree with Kelis’ thoughts on animals being skinned for clothing, but perhaps you dig her beats. Here she is performing “Acapella” on Later… With Jools Holland.
