Taio Cruz Makes His U.S. Television Debut On ‘Leno’
UK singer-songwriter Taio Cruz became an overnight sensation here in the States when his single “Break Your Heart” was added to iTunes in March, which sent the jam to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 the following week. And since then he’s sold two million downloads of the song and made a music video with Ke$ha. (Hey—keep aiming for the stars, Taio!) Backstage, Taio became a little starstruck by his fellow guests on the late night talk show. “Just met Bill Cosby, Ricky Gervais and Jay Leno Backstage at the Tonight Show! Unbelievable!!!!!!!” he tweeted.
Cruz, who’s written songs for artists such as Justin Timberlake, Sugababes and Britney Spears, recently told us, “If I’m writing just in general I am always inspired. So I’m not overly pressured to keep records for myself—I feel like I will write another song that will be better and, for the moment, be my favorite.”
“Dirty Picture,” his duet with Ke$ha, peaked at #6 on the UK singles chart two weeks ago.
