FRIDAY VIDEO TIME: The Highly Subjective Totally Debatable List Of The Best Songs That Start With The Letter “H”

May 21st, 2010 // 4 Comments

Welcome back to our weekly series where we highlight the top songs over the last 50 years that start with a specific letter of the alphabet. This week, we move on to the letter “H”. This playlist includes songs about heads, heels, hearts, and holidays. If you’re expecting to find The Eagles’ “Hotel California” mentioned below, we’ll save you the trouble: we’ve intentionally left that one off. Too obvious. Don’t forget we’ll be doing the letter “I” next Friday. So if there’s a song you think deserves a slot, give us a shout.

Jump below to see the best “H” songs over the last 50 years

60′s – “Hey Bulldog” – The Beatles

70′s – “Hello It’s Me” – Todd Rundgren (solo version)

80′s – “Head Over Heels” – Tears For Fears

90′s – “Heartbreaker” – Mariah Carey

00′s – “Holiday” – Green Day

  1. I’m really surprised Heart Breaker beat ‘Hero’ which is also by Mariah, Hard Knock Life Jay-Z, Whitney’s Heart Break Hotel or Have You Ever by Brandy for the 90′s. Actually besides the 00′s not sure I agree with any of those.

On second thought I don’t even agree with that. Beyonce’s Halo, Leona’s Happy, Avril’s Happy Ending, Good Charlotte Hold On. Boo!

    • I would definitely say “Holiday” is the best song of the 00′s that begins with H… at least the one I can think of off the top of my head. And that’s why the list is debatable!

  2. No “Horchata”?? COME ON!!!

  3. Also, sorry, same person, but “Hey Bulldog” over “Hey Jude” or “Hello Goodbye”?!?
