3OH!3 unveiled the music video to their masterful modern day answer to Beethoven’s Fifth symphony, the Ke$ha-assisted summer jam “My First Kiss.” And like many first kisses, it is embarrassing and uncomfortable for all involved. Watch below.
3OH!3 feat. Ke$ha – “My First Kiss”
Truth be told, this catchy (albeit trashy) song deserves a better video. Filmed pretty much entirely on a green screen and filled in with a flat, fluorescent backgrounds, the whole vid looks hastily slapped together. Just Jared notes that the clip was directed by Isaac Ravishankara, a Harvard grad, which goes to show that not every Harvard grad goes on to become President of the United States or a writer on The Simpsons. Some get to make mediocre music videos for pop-rock acts.
“My First Kiss” does feature at least one girl-on-girl makeout sesh, if you’re into that thing, which is still one more same-sex kiss than the video for their “Starstrukk” partner Katy Perry’s “I Kissed A Girl” had. So, congrats, 3OH!3, we guess.
Also, K$’s gold lips at the end of the clip are going to haunt us for years to come.
