Lee DeWyze To Sing National Anthem At NBA Finals
Lee DeWyze will sing the national anthem at the NBA finals this Sunday night, joining every past Idol winner (besides Fantasia – hey, what gives?) who has been invited to perform “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the sports event since 2004. To be honest, we’re not particularly sure the Season 9 champ will be able to pull off a vocally challenging song like the national anthem—he wasn’t exactly known to be a consistent live performer during his run on the show—but we’re willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, especially since he impressed us with his non-purchaseable cover of “Beautiful Day”.
