Sweet! Katy Perry re-imagines the Golden State as a Candyland-like fantasy world in her just-released “California Gurls” video. The scantily-clad singer saunters through a sugary wonderland while freeing imprisoned gurls who have been trapped in confectionary confinement by Snoop Dogg. And in the end, there’s lots of synchronized dancing, Snoop buried up to his neck on the beach and—oh, yes—those strategically placed whipped cream cans. Watch the “California Gurls” video after the jump!

Both the set and Snoop as the pimp of Candyland are total fun. But Katy’s dancing is a bit stiff. Maybe she should practice a bit more by studying the moves in the “Alejandro” video? Or not.

The “California Gurls” vid was directed by Matthew Cullen (of Motion Theory), who previously got behind the lens for Adele’s “Chasing Pavements” and Weezer’s “Pork And Beans” clips. And art fans may recognize the soft, gooey touch of artist Will Cotton, who art-directed the clip. Katy’s single, which was co-written by her, Max Martin, Dr. Luke and Snoop Dogg, is currently #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Are you digging this syrupy visual for her ode to the West Coast?
