Light Your Fuse With The Rusko Remix Of Kelis’ “4th Of July (Fireworks)”

Among those who’ve lent their remixing skills to Kelis’ second Flesh Tone single “4th Of July (Fireworks)” are Calvin Harris, Richard X and Los Angeles-based U.K. dubstep producer/artist Rusko. The latter carved out time from his busy schedule (he’s worked with Rihanna, T.I. and, more recently, Britney Spears) to amp up the bass and add some Atari-esque synth squiggles on Kelis’ dance track, and you can hear his mix after the jump.

(Grab a free track of his over at Rcrd Lbl.)

And 2010 could be the year he breaks out just as big as David Guetta did last year, given that he also produced material on M.I.A.’s upcoming album. “They approach me because they want me to do what I do,” Rusko told LA Weekly last month. “They don’t want me to make a cheesy pop record. I just want to be known for my beats. It’s simple. What you see is what you get. Bang! The music.”

Bang, just like 4th of July fireworks.
