Cody Simpson Is Coming To A Summer Camp Near You

It’s been a minute since we checked in with Cody Simpson, aka Australia’s answer to Justin Bieber. (We admit, we’re still reeling from his scandalous revelation that he’d like to date both Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez at the same time.) But anyway, summer’s here, and now comes the news that tween pop star Cody is leaving behind the shores of Australia (it’s winter there, after all) for the U.S., where he’ll be joining the Camplified tour. And just what is that? Head below to find out.

A press release that went out yesterday notes that Camplified, which first began in 2001, is set to rock teens and tweens at over 30 camps across the United States, July 5 through August 13. (Recent Idolator interview subject FeFe Dobson is a veteran of the summer musical trek.)

Cody is just one of the acts appearing on the bill which also includes Thomas Fiss, Josiah Rea, Bascom Hill, Atomic Solace, Rachel Platten and Highbench. So look out, mom and dad—this 13-year-old Aussie is going to be giving your daughters a whole new kind of cabin fever over the next couple months.

Thankfully the press release points out that campers are “given the opportunity to both engage with the performers and participate in age-appropriate sponsored activities and contests.” And, no—”falling” into the creek and gasping for Cody to give you mouth-to-mouth resuscitation does not count as age-appropriate, kids.

At any rate, for those who’ve been yearning for a deeper look into the Cody Simpson psyche, here’s his latest interview with J-14, where the “iYiYi” singer answers such burning reader questions as “Would you ever duet with Justin Bieber?” and “What’s the biggest difference between American and Australian Girls?”
