Weezer Scores With Soccer-Adoring Video For “Represent”

Weezer’s anthem rock song “Represent” is the unofficial theme song for the U.S. men’s soccer team during the 2010 World Cup, and the single is about as fist-pumping as you can get for a band of beloved hipster-esque misfits. We’re a bit disappointed the track’s video features more soccer than actual Weezer, especially since Rivers Cuomo is allegedly a huge fan of the sport, but if you want to celebrate Team USA (or just bash Algeria again), catch the vid below.

Weezer – “Represent”

“One hundred years from now / Gonna look back on this day / Where you goin to be? / And what are they goin’ to say? / I see my name in lights / The people call my name / It’s all up to you,” Rivers sings on the track. We feel so motivated after watching this soccer-iffic clip, we just might sign up for an intramural soccer team! Or at least rent Ladybugs. Whatever requires less effort.
