Move over, Coolio–Italian dance king Benny Benassi is about to take us all on a fantastic voyage for the 21st century, with Kelis, apl.de.ap of the Black Eyed Peas and producer Jean-Baptiste (who worked on Kelis’ upcoming Flesh Tone album as well as the Peas’ “Boom Boom Pow”) as his crew. Benassi’s new jam “Spaceship” is the first single off his fifth studio album, which is due out later this year—and we’ve got the video after the jump!

We’re absolutely digging Kelis’ spacey-stewardess-meets-Metropolis vibe in the Ray Kay-directed “Spaceship” video (the song and its various remixes are available on iTunes now).

“This was a big opportunity for us,” Benassi recently told MTV about working with Kelis on the track. “To work with her … it’s a beautiful experience because we get to put our bass line and our energy for dance music with a beautiful voice.”

Previously, Benny had remixed Kelis’ club hit “Acapella.”

“He’s amazing,” Kelis noted to MTV. “He’s been amazing. He did a remix for me … that’s ridiculous. I just think his take on stuff is very him. You recognize his sound, and that’s important for a producer. I love the fact that I can give him a record to remix and it literally sounds like a new song.”

And while we love “Acapella” and “4th Of July (Fireworks),” this might be our favorite video featuring the 30-year-old singer to come along so far.
