Did You Hear?

:: Behold, a young Justin Bieber, without his beautiful swoop. And for those of you wondering, Bieber is Canadian, and is thus forced to enjoy hockey, just like us Americans are contractually obligated to not care about soccer. [Best Week Ever]

:: A soldier who was caught sneaking classified information off of military computers in Iraq had attempted to conceal the contents of the files on his disc by saying it was a Lady Gaga record. [Vulture]

:: This may be the worst review of M.I.A.’s HARD NY performance yet: “M.I.A.’s set was worse than awful. It was one of the worst sets that, as a lifelong concert-goer, I have ever seen.” [Consequence of Sound]

:: Germany’s Love Parade, a massive electronic music festival featuring headliners David Guetta, resulted in the death of 19 concergoers and over 350 being injured. Over one million people attended the fest, and a stampede broke out when organizers barricaded the one entrance leading into the festival. Heartbreaking. [EW Music Mix]

:: A former American Idol contestant (one of the laughably bad ones during the audition rounds) is suing the show for anti-gay discrimination in the workplace. Idol, apparently, counts as a workplace, because he also claims he was paid by producers to act as though he were auditioning, which makes him an employee of the company.  [MJs Big Blog]
