Producer Rodney Jerkins (aka Darkchild), who co-wrote/co-produced several songs on Michael Jackson’s last studio album Invincible (including the hit “You Rock My World”), sat down recently for a video interview with VladTV.com. It was here that the 32-year-old revealed that he’s “about to work on an unreleased project” involving currently-shelved MJ songs. Watch after the jump.

Jerkins is currently executive-producing Ray J’s Raydiation 2, hence Brandy’s brother sitting next to Darkchild (and occasionally chiming in with his own Jackson memories).

“Oh, it’s definitely gonna come,” Darkchild said of the collection of unreleased material from the King Of Pop. “It takes time, though. It’s a lot—you got to do a lot of the red tape. But, yeah—there’s definitely going to be unreleased Michael Jackson. Definitely going to be stuff to come. ”

Note that Rodney points out in the interview that he was 20 when he began working with Michael on Invincible (which would have been sometime in either 1997 or 1998). The album, however, didn’t see a release until fall 2001.

Let’s hope the unreleased material sees the light of day in a more speedy manner.
