David Archuleta Performs “Something ‘Bout Love” Live For The First Time

Aug 31st, 2010 // 17 Comments

Ahead of the release of The Other Side Of Down, David Archuleta has been trekking across the states and doing promo appearances. One such stop was at New York’s USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center this past Saturday, where Archie joined the Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovato, Allstar Weekend and Shontelle for Arthur Ashe Kids Day (see photos) and belted out his new single “Something ‘Bout Love” live for the first time. Watch below.

“It was really fun. It was cool meeting Allstar Weekend and hanging with them, and then seeing Shontelle and Demi again,” Archuleta wrote on his official site today. “I didn’t really get to say much to the Jonas Brothers, but I did catch a bit of their soundcheck.”

David’s album The Other Side Of Down is currently set for an October 5 release date.

We think Archie sounded pretty good for it being the first time he’s tackled “Something ‘Bout Love” live. How do you think he did?

  1. David was amazing!!! He was born to be on stage and touch millions with his beautiful
voice and heart!! Hearing David…live in person…is just a very enlightening and uplifting experience. He brings so much positive energy to his performances merely showing the passion that he has for music!!! He makes the audience come along for the “ride of your lives” !!! You will walk away from his concert addicted to his music…and his heart!!!
David needs no backup dancers, or any other distractions. He is the show, and such an electrifying one at that!!! You will not be able to take your eyes off David and his performance!! I cannot wait for his album to be released on Oct. 5th. He has worked so hard on it, but it will be well worth the wait!!! Great Job David!! “Something “Bout Love” is full of WIN!!!

He did freakin’ amazing as usual! Something ‘Bout Love is an awesome tune and he rocked it!!! He sounds incredible live, unlike a lot of other singers today, and it was altogether a wicked performance!! :)

Luv, luv SBL. Unfortunately, I was not able to attend the AAKD in Flushing, Queens but no worries, his fans are always kept up to date with great vids of his performances, thanks to his many loyal fans all over! I have, however, been fortunate enough to attend a few of David’s live performances and am always blown away by him (and his bandmates). Can’t wait until October 5th–already ordered two of the total package CDs–exciting times ahead. Sign this – a fan for life!

David did great with this performance — it was high energy, and he sounded wonderful, and the crowd seemed to enjoy it. Can’t wait to see him perform live again. Waiting for announcement of his next big tour.

David always sounds great no matter what he sings. As introduced he is the most amazing voice on the planet. This song will be another big hit. Next stop top 20!!!!!!

It wasn’t the first time David sang SBL live but it was the first time electric, with a band, and 2 of the band members were new too. The other times were just David with Mike on acoustic guitar at radio stations, radio events and on Good Day New York. Those are nice too! And David also performed acoustic Elevator a few times (a song from his up coming album) and acoustic Crush. Some of the nicest acoustic videos are from Good Day New York and WNCI. I preordered the Deluxe CD/DVD from the shop at David’s official site and donated to David Beyond Borders so a needy fan will get one too. David has more appearances coming up in September and even be singing on a Christmas program as part of an NPR holiday special that’s being taped early. Check out fan sites like SnarkyArchies and others to see what he’s got lined up.

he was amaaazing! I love this song so much and I can’t wait to hear it live in person when he goes on tour ;D

  10. I was lucky to be there on Saturday, to witness David singing “Something ‘Bout Love” live, for the first time before an audience of 24, 000! I was filled with pride as I saw how well he was received by the audience. It was evident that he made more fans after this performance. The energy was incredible! 13. Alynne

He sounded incredible! Can’t wait till I get to hear him sing live again!! I like Something Bout Love even more with a live band playing!

  14. Pascalee

He did great! I wish he had sung the whole song, though!! That’s because I can’t get enough of his voice!! Otherwise, no complaints!!

  15. Jen

David was fabulous! Whatever David is singing he puts his heart and soul into it and it is always amazing. I am always captivated listening to David sing….he is so good! Can’t get enough of that voice. Can’t wait for his new album either….I have pre-ordered and am counting down the days. :)

  16. LMG

wow, someone who can actually sing! I’m shocked and amazed with that (that was sarcasm if noone got it).

It is great to hear actual talent, even live, there were problems but it was clear he was actually SINGING!

    The announcer was obnoxius though.

  17. Im enormously happy that I discovered this specific post. Thiss exactly the knowledge I was initially hoping for.
