Releasing albums around the holiday period has traditionally been good for Josh Groban. Three years back, his LP Noel went five times platinum in these times when an artist is lucky to even snag a gold certification. Cut to Groban’s followup Illuminations, which is set for a November release. The singer has offered up “Hidden Away,” the first single from the Rick Rubin-produced set, for free. Listen below!

And look, as the summer ends, the weather turns and the leaves begin falling off the trees, we’re always suckers for a big, soul-wrenching weeper of a ballad. Especially when it has killer strings (real or faux) and is produced by Rick Rubin.

Score for Josh. We’ll be waiting to be further illuminated come November.
