Josh Groban Offers Up Rick Rubin-Produced Single “Hidden Away” For Free

Releasing albums around the holiday period has traditionally been good for Josh Groban. Three years back, his LP Noel went five times platinum in these times when an artist is lucky to even snag a gold certification. Cut to Groban’s followup Illuminations, which is set for a November release. The singer has offered up “Hidden Away,” the first single from the Rick Rubin-produced set, for free. Listen below!

The uplifting, hymn-like track, written by Groban and Dan Wilson, is up for free download on Josh’s official site, where he says “I am very excited for everyone to hear my single, ‘Hidden Away’… After so many months of work, I can’t wait to finally share this music with all of you.”

And look, as the summer ends, the weather turns and the leaves begin falling off the trees, we’re always suckers for a big, soul-wrenching weeper of a ballad. Especially when it has killer strings (real or faux) and is produced by Rick Rubin.

Score for Josh. We’ll be waiting to be further illuminated come November.

will so be buying this! Thank you Josh for new stuff. Your voice is amazing.

This, poeple, is what talent sounds like. Lets sit all these wanna-be singers in a room and play this for them. Maybe then they would get a clue and stop torturing us with half-ass, tuned-up, warbeling.

    So totally excited!

And, BTW, the killer strings are quite real, nothing faux about them!

The song is so haunting and original. I love it. BTW, I don’t think Mr. Groban has EVER used “faux” strings on an album. Like his singing, it’s the real thing.

I can’t figure out how to download it for free. Any tips?
