Kanye West’s “G.O.O.D. Fridays” digital singles series picks up this week with “Lord Lord Lord”, a spacy soul jam in the style of “Devil In A New Dress” with flavor provided by legendary lyricist (and Kanye push-up contest rival) Mos Def. Kanye and his rotating “G.O.O.D. Friday” cast — including superproducer Swizz Beatz, former Gap Band singer Charlie Wilson — wrapped this one up early this morning (just a little late, as Swizz admitted), and it’s a fine addition to the series. Listen (and download) below:

As MTV’s Mawuse Ziegbe noted, the track has “none of the rushed energy you might expect from a five-artist collabo completed just hours before hitting the Web.” Instead, it unspools slowly, providing each of Kanye’s guests to spit their verses (and profess their talents) over an easy-rolling beat for more than seven minutes. Mos Def kicks off the track with an intricate rhyme — “The carnival till bell / The hustle for the age / They clutch what they covet / What must they give away?” — before Kanye drops in to deliver perhaps his raunchiest verse ever.

Verses like that may not help Kanye in his effort to prove he’s matured since the events of last year, but the track continues to stoke our excitement for Dark Twisted Fantasy. And now that it’s Saturday, Kanye can return to his regular schedule of fashion shows and cartoon voiceover work before recording a new jam for next weekend.
