Rihanna’s latest hit “Only Girl (In The World)” hopped up to #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 last week, and the Barbadian songstress tweeted a photo from the video yesterday for her fans. “What up #RihannaNavy I’ve been busy being the ‘Only Girl In the World’ wanna see more?!?!” she wrote after posting the pic, which has her on a dry hillside in California, surrounded by giant, colorful balloons. Head below to watch RiRi on the set of yet another music video in New York.
Rap-Up.com noted that Rihanna was in New York City over the weekend shooting the vid for “What’s My Name,” presumably the next single off her upcoming fifth album Loud.
“The video marks the first time the pop star has worked with director Philip Andelman,” the site pointed out. Andelman previously shot such clips as Beyonce’s “Halo” and John Mayer’s “Waiting On The World To Change.”
This one seems to feature the singer strutting up and down the Manhattan streets in what looks like ’80s hooker attire straight out of a Miami Vice episode. At one point she bangs on a light post with a pair of drum sticks.
So are we feeling the puffy stack of red RiRi has been sporting on her head lately? She’s always been noted for her cutting edge hairstyles, but this doesn’t quite stand out as her best look.
