Despite silent press conferences and chummy promo photos saying otherwise, we’ve still been in denial that American Idol will honestly try and continue in Simon Cowell’s absence. But this pic (tweeted by returning producer Nigel Lythgoe) of Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez, and Randy Jackson sitting at the judges table has finally made it all sink in. Looks like Randy was upgraded to Simon’s spot! That’s what seniority will do for you.
