Shontelle Has A “Perfect Nightmare” In Her New Video

When Rodney Jerkins gets it right with a top notch production, he gets it so, so right. Think Monica’s “Angel Of Mine.” Or Spice Girls’ “Holler.” Or Lady Gaga and Beyonce’s “Telephone.” Or Spice Girls’ “Holler” (oh, did we say that one already?). And Shontelle’s “Perfect Nightmare” is another snappy feather for Darkchild’s cap, even if the video is of the on-a-tight-budget variety. Watch below.

Colin Tilley, director of Justin Bieber’s “Never Let You Go,” lensed Shontelle’s vid. The murky dance sequences and dramatic boxing ring plot don’t really do the song any favors, but the singer is charismatic enough to pull the whole thing together. With any luck “Perfect Nightmare” will at least match the success of her summer ballad “Impossible.”

Shontelle, who recently recorded a track with JLS called “Ay Mama” for the boy band’s second album, could certainly use another hit to buoy her own sophomore album No Gravity, which debuted on the Billboard Top 200 this week at #81.
