Sadly for all you electronic music fans out there, Daft Punk’s Tron: Legacy soundtrack has been pushed back to December 7. This being the Internet and all, however, we won’t have to wait that long to hear new tracks from the robot-headed duo. Below, listen to one such 90-second track, “The Game Has Changed”, from N.E.R.D.’s new producing buddies.

We’ve already heard this piece of music, as it was featured in the movie’s trailer, but it’s good to hear an extended cut on its own.

Apparently, Daft Punk, who will also feature new music in Tron: Legacy‘s video game, are starting a trend — The Chemical Brothers will score the upcoming film Hanna, directed by Joe Wright (Atonement).

Between these two synth-assisted duos and Trent Reznor’s phenomenal score for The Social Network, it looks like Hollywood’s standard film composers are getting the bum rush by electronically-minded alternative acts. Watch out, John Williams! You may be replaced by Passion Pit!
