Jason Derulo Covers Ray Charles’ “Georgia On My Mind” On ‘DWTS’

Colorful Colombian bombshell Shakira wasn’t the only artist to perform live on last night’s episode of Dancing With The Stars. “The Sky’s The Limit” crooner Jason Derulo also turned out two very different tunes—his own hit “In My Head,” and a cover of Ray Charles’ “Georgia On My Mind.” Watch below.

The problem with Jason’s moves in this first performance is that he just comes off like he’s concentrating too hard on looking like Usher mimicking Michael Jackson while singing “In My Head.” And a carbon copy of a carbon copy is always going to be messy.

“Georgia On My Mind,” however, showed Jason in a far more elegant and classy light.

Leave the recycled moves to the pros, Derulo. Finding your own persona and projecting that to your fans will probably make a world of difference in truly connecting with the public at large.

lol Baby is a great, catchy song! I play songs that I like resdarlegs of who is singing. The piano has no voice lol. Plus there is no real reason to hate on the kid. I’m sure if you were offered all this money and fame you wouldn’t turn it down either
